What drives the price of tree removal in Brisbane
Two trees that sound the same can be very different jobs. Six things move the price.
Height & trunk size
The biggest driver. A 4m ornamental and a 15m eucalypt need different crews and gear.
Access
A truck within 20m and a wide side gate is faster and cheaper. A long carry through a narrow gate adds hours.
Structures & power lines
Over a roof, pool or fence it comes down in sections with rigging, which takes far longer.
Species & wood density
A bottlebrush cuts quickly. Ironbark and brush box do not.
Council permit
Adds approval time and usually an arborist report, from $250.
Stump grinding
Quoted separately, from $80 depending on stump diameter.

Brisbane City Council protects some trees outright, and others are covered by a Vegetation Protection Order on the property. Removing a protected tree without approval can mean fines far bigger than the cost of the job.

Most residential jobs run half a day to a full day.
7am start
Time confirmed the day before. We start 7–7:30am, when it's coolest and quietest.
Exclusion zone
We walk the site with you, then nobody stands inside the zone while saws are running.
Fell or section
One controlled fell if there's room, or dismantled in sections and lowered on ropes.
Chip & sweep
Branches chipped as they come down, timber taken away (or left as mulch), site swept.

Every tree is different, so these are average starting prices, not fixed prices. Small trees under 5m with easy access start from $199. Medium trees (5–10m) from $450. Large trees (10–15m) from $900. Very large trees over 15m are quoted on site. Prices depend on size, access, species, and whether stump grinding is included.
It depends on whether your tree is on Brisbane City Council's protected list or covered by a Vegetation Protection Order (VPO). Many standard suburban trees can be removed without a permit. We check VPO status as part of every quote — just ask.
