Controlled felling for rural, acreage, and open suburban properties. AQF Level 5 arborists.
Tree felling is the controlled cutting of a tree at its base so it falls in a predetermined direction. It's efficient and cost-effective when space allows — but most Brisbane suburban blocks don't have the clear fall zone a large tree requires.
Our arborists assess each job individually. If there's safe fall clearance, straight felling is quoted. If there's not — fences, buildings, other trees, powerlines — we use sectional dismantling, working from the top down in manageable sections. Either way, the result is the same: tree down, site clean.
Tree felling means cutting the tree at the base and dropping it in a controlled direction. Tree removal covers the whole job — felling or sectional dismantling, chipping, and site cleanup. Felling is only used when there's enough clear space for the tree to fall safely.
Straight felling is used when there's sufficient clear space in a safe fall direction — typically in open properties, acreage, or rural blocks. In suburban settings with fences, buildings, or powerlines nearby, sectional dismantling (cutting from the top down in sections) is almost always used instead.
Straight felling is often cheaper than sectional dismantling because it's faster. Prices start from $199 for small trees. For medium trees expect $350–$700, and large trees $700–$1,600+. Stump grinding is usually quoted separately.
