AS4373-2007 standard pruning. Crown lift, deadwooding, formative pruning. Qualified arborists across Brisbane.
There's a difference between a tree that's been pruned and a tree that's been cut at. Correct pruning removes branches at the natural branch collar, preserving the tree's wound response and minimising decay. Lopping cuts branches mid-span, leaving stubs that die, rot, and produce vigorous weak regrowth.
All our pruning follows AS4373-2007 - the Australian standard for amenity tree pruning. Our arborists know where to cut, how much to remove, and when to recommend removal instead of repeated pruning.
| Tree size | Price range |
|---|---|
| Small tree (under 5m) | $150 – $250 |
| Medium tree (5–10m) | $250 – $550 |
| Large tree (10–15m) | $550 – $1,100 |
| Very large tree (15m+) | $1,100 – $2,200+ |
Small tree pruning starts from around $150–$250. Medium trees $250–$550. Large trees $550–$1,200+. Price depends on tree size, number of cuts, access, and type of pruning required.
AS4373-2007 (Pruning of Amenity Trees) is the Australian standard. It specifies correct cut placement, maximum wound size, and acceptable pruning ratios. All our pruning follows this standard — flush cuts and lion-tailing are not acceptable practice under AS4373.
AS4373-2007 recommends removing no more than 30% of live crown in a single season for most species. Removing too much at once stresses the tree and can trigger rapid epicormic growth (water shoots).
Most pruning can be done year-round in Brisbane's climate. Flowering trees are best pruned after flowering. Avoid heavy pruning during periods of prolonged drought or heat stress.
Pruning removes specific branches to a natural union point (collar cut), following AS4373. Lopping cuts branches mid-span, leaving stubs that die back, create decay, and produce weak regrowth. We prune — we don't lop.
