Commercial tree removal in Brisbane

Strata, body corporate, schools, builders and property managers. $20M public liability, AQF Level 5 arborists, and the documentation your approval process needs.

$20M InsuredAQF Level 5Body Corporate Ready

A different job to residential, and not because the trees are bigger

It's different because there are more people involved. A body corporate needs three quotes and a committee decision. A school needs the work done when there are no kids on site. A builder needs it done before the concrete truck arrives on Tuesday. A property manager needs an invoice that will pass an owner's scrutiny and a certificate of currency on file before anyone starts.

We do that side of it as seriously as the cutting. We work with strata managers, body corporates, commercial property managers and real estate agencies across Brisbane's north and east.

Who we work for

Body corporates and strata

Common property trees, storm damage across a complex, and the annual maintenance nobody budgets for until a limb comes down. We quote per tree and per schedule so the committee can see what it's approving.

Property managers and real estate agencies

Usually reactive. A tenant reports a hazard, you need it assessed and dealt with quickly, and you need documentation for the owner. We can do the assessment and the work as one job.

Builders and developers

Site clearing before a slab, tree protection during construction, and the arborist reports councils ask for as a condition of approval. If trees are being retained on site, say so at quoting stage so the scope is written that way.

Schools, childcare and aged care

Access windows are the constraint, not the tree. Early starts and weekend work are the usual answer here — tell us the window you need and we'll scope to it.

Industrial and retail sites

Car park trees, boundary vegetation, and the eucalypt that's been dropping limbs on customer vehicles.

Council-managed land

Documented work with the controls the site requires.

What a commercial quote includes

More paperwork than a residential one, and it's there for a reason.

  • Certificate of Currency for $20 million public liability, provided before work begins
  • Risk assessment covering access, exclusion zones and services
  • Detailed written scope suitable for a body corporate approval process
  • The AQF Level 5 arborist responsible for the job, named
  • Waste disposal detail, including where the material goes
  • Before and after documentation
  • Scope written per tree, not as a lump sum, so the client can approve items individually
  • Invoices in the format your accounting system requires

If you're comparing quotes and one of them doesn't include this, that's the difference in price you're looking at.

Arborist inspecting a mature tree on a body corporate common area

The services we run commercially

Removal of hazardous and dead trees, including sectional dismantling over buildings, car parks and plant. The method is the same as any tree removal, the planning around it is not.

Staged maintenance programs with regular inspections. Annual or twice-yearly deadwooding and clearance across a site. This is the cheapest way for a body corporate to manage trees, because you're preventing the emergency call-outs rather than paying for them.

Storm response. We run a 24 hour line and prioritise commercial sites where access is blocked or a hazard is exposed to the public. See storm damage tree removal and emergency tree removal.

Arborist reports and tree assessments. Condition reports, reports for development applications and insurance, risk assessments, and Vegetation Protection Order applications. Detail on the arborist report page.

Clearance pruning to service lines and structures, including accredited work near powerlines.

Stump grinding to whatever depth the following works require, which for commercial jobs is usually deeper than residential. See stump grinding.

How commercial jobs run differently on site

Access windows are the first thing we plan around. Retail centres get done before opening where the window allows. Schools get done in holidays or on an early start. Body corporate common areas get done when residents have been notified, and we'll give you the notice text if you want it.

Exclusion zones are managed with spotters and barriers rather than a rope and good intentions, because on a commercial site the public will walk into anything you leave open.

Documentation gets completed on site and sent through with the invoice. Photos before and after, waste detail, and any variation signed rather than assumed.

And nothing starts until the client's induction requirements are met. If your site needs a specific induction, tell us at quoting stage and we'll build the time in.

Trees, councils and development approvals

If you're building, the tree question usually arrives as a condition on your approval rather than a choice.

Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law protects certain vegetation, and development applications frequently require an arborist report covering which trees are being retained, what the tree protection zones are, and how the works will avoid damaging them. AS 4970 is the Australian Standard that governs protecting trees on development sites, and it's what a council assessor measures a report against.

Getting this wrong is expensive. Removing a protected tree without approval on a commercial site attracts a fine and can hold up the whole approval. Have the assessment done before the machinery arrives, not after. There's more in our note on tree removal before building and construction and on the council permits page.

We write those reports and we do the removals, so there's one party responsible for both.

Response times

We respond to commercial quote requests the same day, Monday to Saturday. Emergency response is 24 hours a day — if a tree is down across a driveway at a complex at 2am, that's a call we take.

Scheduled work is booked to your window, not ours.

Why property managers and committees use us

Committees approve line items, not lump sums. We write quotes that way, itemised per tree, so a body corporate meeting can approve six of the eight items and defer the rest without going back out to quote.

The assessment and the works come from the same firm, so when the report says a tree has to go, the same people are accountable for how it goes.

And we're a Brisbane crew. If something fails on a Sunday afternoon at a complex you manage, you're calling someone who can be there, not a national call centre. There's more on running trees across a portfolio in our piece on commercial tree management in Brisbane.

Commercial tree work across Brisbane

Most of our commercial work sits in a band from Chermside and Aspley through Stafford and Kedron, then east through Hamilton, Eagle Farm, Albion, Bulimba, Morningside, Cannon Hill and Murarrie. That covers a lot of body corporate complexes, industrial estates and school grounds, and it means a crew is usually close when something goes wrong.

CBD and inner-fringe sites are done on request, and those almost always need traffic management arranged in advance rather than on the day.

Get a commercial quote

Tell us the site, the access constraints and your deadline. If you need documentation in a particular format for your own systems, say so at quoting stage.

Get a price for your tree

Send us a photo and your suburb. Most quotes go back the same day, and there's no obligation.

Two photos settle most quotes without a site visit: one of the tree, and one from further back showing what's underneath and around it. Access and what sits below drive the price more than height does.

Common questions

Do you work with body corporates and strata committees?+

Yes, regularly. We quote per tree with a clear written scope so a committee can approve individual items rather than a lump sum, in a format suited to body corporate approval processes.

Are you insured for commercial work?+

We carry $20 million public liability insurance, and the Certificate of Currency goes to the body corporate manager or client before work begins.

Do you provide risk assessments?+

Yes. Risk assessments for body corporate liability management are part of what we do, covering access, exclusion zones and services on the specific site.

What about traffic management?+

Work that affects a road, footpath or car park needs traffic management. Tell us at quoting stage and we'll scope it into the job rather than discovering it on the morning.

Can you work outside business hours?+

Early starts from 6am with prior notice, and Saturday work, are available for commercial jobs. Full after-hours work depends on the job and the notice required, so raise it at quoting stage.

Do you write arborist reports for development applications?+

Yes. Condition assessments, reports for development applications and insurance, and Vegetation Protection Order applications. Doing the report and the works with one firm avoids the gap between them.

How quickly can you quote a commercial job?+

We respond to quote requests the same day, Monday to Saturday. Emergency call-outs are attended 24 hours a day.

Do you offer scheduled maintenance programs?+

Yes. Staged maintenance programs with regular inspections are the cheapest way to manage trees across a site, because they replace emergency call-outs with planned work.

What happens to the green waste on commercial jobs?+

It's chipped and removed, and we provide disposal detail with the invoice where the client needs it for their own reporting.

Can you remove trees on a construction site before we pour?+

Yes, including clearing a building envelope. Check the approval conditions first, because protected vegetation on a development site needs approval before anything is touched.

Do you handle emergency call-outs for managed properties?+

Yes, 24 hours. Commercial sites where public access is blocked or a hazard is exposed to the public get priority.

Can you invoice to a body corporate manager rather than the committee?+

Yes, and we itemise the invoice to match the approved scope so it reconciles without a phone call. Invoices come in the format your accounting system requires.
